The present invention concerns a mixed oxide of zirconium, cerium, lanthanum and at least one oxide of a rare earth other than cerium and lanthanum that comprises two crystalline phases and that has a large specific surface area. The invention also concerns the method for preparing same and the use thereof in catalysis.
