PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a continuous casting method where a proper amount of metallic element(s) is added to a molten steel in high yield, and uniformly and stably dispersed into a slab.
SOLUTION : In the continuous casting method where one or more kinds selected from among a Bi alloy, an Sn alloy and a Te alloy are added to a molten steel in a laddle, a tundish or a mold, one metal selected from among metal Bi, metal Sn and metal Te is mixed with one metal selected from among Al, Ca, Si, Mg, Ti, Mn, Ni and rare earth elements, respectively, and the content of Bi, Sn or Te in the metal mixture is controlled to ≥70 mass%, the metal mixture is covered with a covering material made of iron so as to obtain an iron-covered wire, and it is added to the molten steel. In the method, it is preferable that the iron-covered wire is fed to the molten steel through the inside of a heat insulation guide pipe, and the thickness of the covering material made of iron is controlled to 0.1 to 3.0 mm.
