The invention relates to a high-pressure discharge lamp comprising a metal halide filling, wherein iodine or bromine is used as the halogen. In addition, xenon and mercury are used. Halides of Na together with rare earths, at least of Gd and Tm, are used as metal halides. Additions of Ho, Pr, In, and Tl are possible.
