PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a dispersion of rare-earth fluoride fine particles, which can be produced in large amounts with high yield at production and is suitably used in a process wherein the dispersion is applied to a rare earth magnet for increasing coercive force, a method for producing the same, and a rare-earth magnet obtained using the same.
SOLUTION : In the dispersion of rare-earth or alkaline earth metal (R) fluoride fine particles, the viscosity can be changed by an external force. The fine particles of rare-earth or alkaline earth metal (R) fluoride (RF3) increases viscosity when uniformly dispersed in an organic solvent. The viscosity of the dispersion of the fluoride fine particles at 25°C is ≥5 times larger than that of the solvent alone.
