PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a combination of alloy elements, when a rare earth metal-free magnesium alloy is strengthened by age precipitation, which can form planar precipitates precipitating on the columnar face of a magnesium matrix capable of most effectively contributing to the strengthening, and, particularly, exhibits the fact that Bi and Zn to be added may become effective substitutional elements for rare earth metals. SOLUTION : In the magnesium alloy exhibiting an age precipitation phenomenon, the precipitates of planar non-rare earth metal elements by the age precipitation phenomenon are precipitated on the (1120) face as the planar face of magnesium (with a hexagonal dense structure).
