PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a cathode used for a magnetron which has solved a problem for obtaining a large power. SOLUTION : A cathode for magnetron is obtained which uses a high melting-point metal containing inside an electron emitting material as a matrix and of which on the surface a boride of rare earth is coated. As the electron emitting material and the high melting-point metal, respectively La2O3and W are desirable, and as the boride of rare earth, LaB6 is desirable. COPYRIGHT : (C)2010, JPO&INPIT
