Method for the separation of plating coating film

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To reuse the basis material of parts after peeling in a plating process or a remelting process by applying shot peening to plated parts and loosening and peeling a coating film from the basis material of the parts. SOLUTION : It is desirable that, in combination with the application of shot peening to plated parts, a ball mill, a pot mill, or a vibrating mill is used to loosen and peel a film to be peeled off from the basis material of the parts. It is preferable that the basis material of the parts is composed of rare earth magnet, and particularly an Nd-Fe-B alloy magnet, and that the coating film is composed of nickel or aluminum. When shot peening is applied to a nickel plating film on a rare earth magnet, only the nickel plating film with ductility elongates and the rare earth magnet causes no plastic deformation because of its extremely high hardness, and resultantly, shearing force is applied between the film and the basis material and the film rises and peels off. By the shot peening method, rigid spherical or spherical ceramics are allowed to collide against the plated surface of the parts by means of centrifugal force or compressed air.
