PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a polarizer protection film and an optical compensation film usable in an image display unit having small wavelength dependency, that is, giving improved display color. SOLUTION : A cellulose acylate film is provided which is characterized in that Re(λ)and Rth(λ)defined by the formulae (I) and (II) : Re(λ)=(nx-ny)×d (I), Rth(λ)=ä(nx+ny)/2-nz}×d (II) satisfy the formulae (III) and (IV) : 0≤Re(630)≤10 and ¾Rth(630)¾≤25 (III), ¾Re(400)-Re(700)¾≤10 and ¾Rth(400)-Rth(700)¾≤35 (IV), wherein Re(λ)and Rth(λ)are respectively a frontal retardation value (unit : nm) and a through-thickness retardation value (unit : nm) at a wavelength λ nm; nx is a refractive index in the direction of a slow axis in the film plane; ny is a refractive index in the direction of a fast axis in the film plane; nz is a refractive index in the thickness direction of the film; and d is the thickness of the film.
