PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an asymmetiric expoxidation catalyst of enones imparting high reactivity, a high yield and high optical purity. SOLUTION : In asymmetric epoxidation reaction of enones, a comples catalyst comprising (R)-binaphthol, rare element isoproxide, triphenylphosphine oxide and cumene hydroperoxide or tertiary butyl hydroperoxide is used.
