PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for preventing an immersion nozzle from clogging capable of suppressing any clogging of the immersion nozzle without incurring deterioration in operability or cost increase, and achieving the consistent continuous casting operation and the consistent quality of a continuously-cast slab. SOLUTION : In the method for preventing the immersion nozzle from clogging when continuously casting a plurality of charges of aluminum-killed steel of low carbon or extra-low carbon refined by a secondary refining apparatus, rare earth elements are added to the aluminum-killed steel refined by the secondary refining apparatus by the amount shown in inequality (1) {(t×N+130)/1, 950}2
