Titanium oxide complexes (I) are new. Titanium oxide complexes (A) of formulae (M 1> x 1M 2> x 2(Ti ( 1 - y - z )M 3> yM 4> z)O ( 3 - a )) (I) and ((M 1> x 1M 2> x 2) m + 1(Ti ( 1 - y - z )M 3> yM 4> z) mO ( 3 m + 1 - a )) (II) are new. M 1>alkaline earth metals or their mixture; M 2>rare earth metals or their mixture; M 3>transition metals comprising Ni, Co or Cu; M 4>an atom or a mixture of atoms comprising transition metals other than Ni, Co, Cu, rare earth metals having coordination number 6, or metal with low oxidation state (+III); x1, x2, y : greater than 0 and less than 1, where x1+x2 is 0.9-1; z : >= 0 and less than 1; a : 0-0.5; and m : integer greater than or equal to 1. Independent claims are included for : (1) the preparation of (A); (2) an electrode of an electrochemical device, comprising (I) or (II) or material resulting from the reduction of (I) or (II); (3) an electrochemical cell comprising an anode, a cathode and an electrolyte in which : the anode and cathode comprise a single material of (I) or (II); or one electrode is a material of (I) or (II) and the other electrode is a material obtained by reducing the material of the first electrode; and (4) a process for producing an electrochemical cell, comprising dipping a product of (I) or (II) in an electrolyte for depositing the product on both sides of the electrolyte, then drying and heat treating for co-sintering.
