PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a zirconia composite microparticle free from coagulation and mutual fusion and excellent in dispersiveness and sinterability at a low temperature, a zirconia composite microparticle dispersion liquid, and a method for producing a zirconia composite microparticle capable of producing a zirconia composite microparticle excellent in dispersiveness and sinterability at a low temperature on a massive scale at low cost.
SOLUTION : The zirconia composite microparticle is obtained by heat-treating a neutralization precipitate obtained by adding an alkali carbonate solution to a zirconia acidic dispersion liquid of a pH of 2-5 containing a rare-earth element ion and/or an alkaline-earth metal ion at 400-600°C. In the zirconia microparticle, the rare-earth element and/or the alkaline-earth metal is contained therein to form a solid solution.
