PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a synchronous motor having reduced generation of eddy currents. SOLUTION : This sintered material is provided with slits 1, 2 at both an upper surface 3 and a lower surface 4. The slit provided at one of these surface is different in the direction on the surface from the slip provided at the other surface. Moreover, the sum of the depth of the deepest slits respectively at the upper and lower surfaces ranges from 1 to 5/3 times the length between the upper surface and lower surface. This sintered material is built into a rotor.
