Disclosed are a process for producing a rare earth activated alkaline earth metal fluoride halide-based photostimulable phosphor, which possesses excellent brightness and graininess and, at the same time, possesses excellent moisture resistance, a rare earth activated alkaline earth metal fluoride halide-based photostimulable phosphor produced by the process, and a radiological image conversion panel. The production process is a process for producing a rare earth activated alkaline earth metal fluoride halide-based photostimulable phosphor represented by the following general formula (1) by sintering of a phosphor precursor mixture. The production process is characterized by comprising a step of preparing one phosphor precursor constituting the phosphor precursor mixture by adding an aqueous inorganic fluoride solution to a reaction mother liquor containing a barium halide dissolved therein to form a crystal precipitate while concentrating the reaction mother liquor to remove the solvent from the reaction mother liquor, a mixing step of mixing the phosphor precursor with another phosphor precursor, and a firing step of firing the phosphor precursor mixture.
