PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a contamination control method which can purify contaminants in the ground without leaving, and can prevent the diffusion of the contaminants. SOLUTION : The contamination control method includes : a procedure where the distribution of contaminants b is preliminarily investigated; a procedure where the high concentration distribution region g of the contaminants b is dug based on the result of the preliminary investigation, an earth and sand material mixed with at least either microorganisms decomposing contaminants or a nutrient activating the microorganisms is re-buried to the part at which the high concentration distribution region g has been present, and a contaminant decomposition zone i selectively capturing contaminants infiltrated therein and decomposing away the same; and a procedure where the earth and sand in the dug high concentration distribution region g are mixed with a conditioning material comprising lime or a chemical essentially consisting of lime, and treated soil q obtained by subjecting the contaminants to purification treatment is re-buried to the upper part of the contaminant decomposition zone i.
