PURPOSE : A garnet-based fluorescent material is provided to ensure a stable crystal structure, excellent light-emitting property in a red area and luminous efficiency, and to implement white light-emitting diode with high color index and low white LED.CONSTITUTION : A method for preparing a garnet-based fluorescent material represented by chemical formula 1 : Ln_3Al_5O_12 : Ce comprises the steps of : (a) uniformly mixing an Ln precursor, Al precursor and Ce precursor in solvent; and (b) growing polyhedral crystals by heat treating the solution at 280~350 °C. In chemical formula 1, Ln is any one selected from group of rare earth elements containing Gd, Sm, Tb, and Y.© KIPO 2009
