PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for preparing an oxychlorination catalyst whose fluidity is hardly degraded and which has high activity and selectivity, and to obtain the oxychlorination catalyst. SOLUTION : The oxychlorination catalyst is prepared by the following steps (a) to (c), namely, a step (a) to prepare slurry by adding hydrochloric acid to pseud-boehmite alumina slurry and adding a cupric chloride aqueous solution and a rare-earth metal chloride aqueous solution and/or an alkali metal halide aqueous solution to the hydrochloric acid-added pseud-boehmite alumina slurry, a step (b) to spray-dry the prepared slurry and a step (c) to fire the fine particles obtained by the step (b). It is preferable that the pH of the prepared slurry is within the range of 2.5-5.0. COPYRIGHT : (C)2005, JPO&NCIPI
