PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for manufacturing an alloy thin band for an Sm-Fe-N-based rare-earth magnet, in which the alloy thin band for the Sm-Fe-N-based rare-earth magnet of a thickness within a range of 10 to 25 μm can stably be manufactured.
SOLUTION : When the alloy thin band for the Sm-Fe-N-based rare-earth magnet is manufactured by jetting the alloy melt for the Sm-Fe-N-based rare-earth magnet to an outer peripheral surface of a rotating cooling roll from a nozzle, and rapidly cooling the melt, a nozzle hole diameter and a peripheral speed of the cooling roll are set as to satisfy the following formulas (1) to (4) : formula (1) u≤80πdn2/(1.84dn-0.02), formula (2) u≥32πdn2/(1.84dn-0.02), formula (3) dn≥0.3, and formula (4) u<80. (In the formulas, u is the roll peripheral speed (m/second), and dn is a nozzle diameter (mm)).
