PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of surely magnetizing parts near a boundary between the regions of magnets more surely in the prescribed directions than usual, when the magnets arranged into the shape of a cylinder are magnetized respectively so as to form the regions which are magnetized in opposite directions. SOLUTION : This magnetizing method comprises a preparation process of preparing a rare earth magnets 22 arranged so as to form a cylinder 22a; a first magnetizing process of forming a first region R1 which is magnetized so as to generate a magnetic flux extending from inside the cylinder 22a toward its outside, and a second region R2 which is magnetized so as to generate a magnetic flux extending from outside the cylinder 22a toward its inside; and a second magnetizing process of applying a second external magnetic field H2 so as to apply an external magnetic field component, whose direction makes an angle of above 0 deg. to below 50 deg. with that of the external magnetic field component which is applied in the first magnetizing process to the boundary between the first region R1 and the second region R2.
