[PROBLEMS] To provide a composition for preventing periodontal disease (a preventive for periodontal disease) which has excellent anticarious properties, remains highly safe and stable over prolonged use and little affects flavors. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A noncarious material which comprises a D-rare sugar selected from the group consisting of D-psicose, D-sorbose and D-tagatose, an L-rare sugar selected from the group consisting of L-fructose, L-psicose and L-tagatose, and allitol which is a rare sugar derivative, either alone or as a combination. An anticarious agent comprising D-psicose, D-sorbose, D-tagatose, L-fructose, L-psicose and/or L-tagatose. An anticarious agent comprising a combination of catechins.© KIPO & WIPO 2009
