An apparatus for separating muck and a method for separating the same are provided to recycle the muck and soil after separating the muck and soil generated by digging ground using a tunnel excavation unit according to size of a particle. A muck separating apparatus comprises the followings : a screen stirring unit(510) stirring sent much and soil with water; an electronic screen(520) discharging and separating the muck and the soil according to size of particles; a water tub storing water passed through the electronic screen; a cyclone(560) discharging the water including big particles bigger than constant size to the electronic screen; and a filter press sending the water passed through to a clean water tank and discharging the water after filtering.
