An electroslag remelting method for soft arcing prevention is provided to manufacture a steel ingot with excellent cleanliness and surface quality by preventing the generation of soft arcing in an interface between a consumable electrode and slag due to argon and by maintaining the stable melting state. An electroslag remelting method for soft arcing prevention comprises : injecting argon as an inert atmospheric gas into a water cooling type mold; remelting a consumable electrode injected into the water cooling type mold into droplets by Joule heat of molten slag; manufacturing a steel ingot by successively solidifying steel refined while the droplets are precipitated into slag; controlling an oxygen concentration within the mold to at least 5% by volume in the initial period that remelting of the consumable electrode is started; and controlling the oxygen concentration within the mold to 1 to 5% by volume in the intermediate and finishing remelting periods.
