A high-temperature superconducting ribbon conductor composite, provided with a cooling layer, has a metal layer or a poorly conductive or nonconductive oxide layer comprising alkalis, alkaline earths and comprising rare earths and alloys thereof as a cooling layer. The cooling layer has a thickness of between 20 μm and approximately 200 μm.
