PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a composite metal oxide having a superior performance as a positive electrode active material of a secondary battery while reducing amount of use of rare metal, to provide a positive electrode for sodium secondary battery having a superior performance, and to provide a sodium secondary battery. SOLUTION : A manufacturing method of a sodium-manganese composite metal oxide has a process to calcine at a temperature of 850°C or more a material containing sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) and dimanganese trioxide (Mn2O3) of a quantity in which a molar ratio (Na/Mn) of sodium to manganese is 0.4 to 0.7. The sodium-manganese composite metal oxide is manufactured by the method. A positive electrode for sodium secondary battery having this sodium-manganese composite metal oxide and a sodium secondary battery are provided. COPYRIGHT : (C)2009, JPO&INPIT
