PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for producing high-purity trans-1, 4-diaminocyclohexane in a high yield. SOLUTION : The method for producing trans-1, 4-diaminocyclohexane includes a hydrogenation step for producing an isomer mixture of 1, 4-diaminocyclohexane by hydrogenation of p-phenylenediamine, where an oxide of an alkaline-earth metal is added to a reaction system of the hydrogenation leading to removal of moisture contained in the reaction system and to functioning of a hydroxide of the alkaline-earth metal as a promotor in the reaction system. The hydrogenation thus proceeds sufficiently to obtain high-purity trans-1, 4-diaminocyclohexane in a high yield. COPYRIGHT : (C)2008, JPO&INPIT
