PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a salt water resistant magnet alloy powder that does not rust even in an environment contacting with salt water, a resin composition for a bond magnet obtained by using the same, and a consolidated magnet thereof.
SOLUTION : A magnetic powder (A) comprising an iron based magnet alloy powder containing a rare earth element is pulverized into particles having an average diameter of ≤8 μm in an organic solvent containing at least an oxide of metal selected from aluminum, zinc, manganese, copper, calcium or a composite oxide thereof, a phosphorus acid salt or a phosphorus acid hydride, and phosphorus acid. Thereby, on the surface of pulverized metallic powder, a uniform composite metal phosphate coating (B) is formed comprising a metal phosphate (b-1) consisting of iron and a rare earth element and a metal phosphate (b-2) of metal selected from aluminum, zinc, manganese, copper or calcium. The amount of metal components contained in the metal phosphate (b-2) is ≥50 wt.% for that contained in the composite metal phosphate coating (B). Thus, the salt water resistant magnet alloy powder is obtained.
