PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a catalyst for oxychlorination which is excellent in activity, selectivity of EDC, suppression of combustion of ethylene or the like as well as flowability, suppression of degradation in the flowability, wear resistance or the like, and also to provide a method for production of the same.
SOLUTION : The catalyst for the oxychlorination contains one or more oxides (A) selected from silica, boria, and phosphorus pentaoxide, alumina and copper. The content of the oxides (A) is in a range of 1-8 wt.% as an oxide, and the content of the copper is in a range of 5-20 wt.% as an oxide (CuO). In addition, a co-catalyst component such as alkali, alkaline earth, and rare earth may be contained.
