PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To obtain the subject compound industrially useful and having an asymmetric carbon atom at the α site of carbonyl by reacting an enone with a specific compound in the presence of a specific asymmetric rare-earth metal catalyst. SOLUTION : This compound shown by formula III is obtained by reacting an enone shown by formula II (X is O, S or the like; R is H, phenyl or the like; R is phenyl or the like; and R and R are each H, phenyl, a 1-6C alkyl or the like) with a compound shown by the formula R YH (Y is S or the like; and R is H, phenyl or the like) in the presence of an asymmetric rare-earth metal catalyst shown by formula I (M is an alkali metal; L is a rare-earth metal; and Z is H, a halogen or the like), preferably at -100 to 50 deg.C for 0.1 to 1000 h in an inert solvent (e.g. benzene).
