PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a new technology of a surface-treated metal plate which shows a followability for processing, is excellent in corrosion resistance and has a corrosion-resistant coating layer absolutely free from hexavalent chromium. SOLUTION : The surface-treated metal material has the corrosion-resistant coating layer essentially comprising an oxyacid compound of a rare earth element (lanthanum, cerium, etc.), an oxyacid compound or a mixture thereof.
