PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a high corrosion-resistant rare-earth permanent magnet which can apply high corrosion resistance without using components of a water soluble cutting fluid, and its manufacturing method.
SOLUTION : This method of manufacturing the high corrosion resistant rare-earth permanent magnet comprises a step of cutting and/or polishing an R-Fe-B based sintered magnet to finish the work of a surface, performing pre-processing for plating, then performing plating to set the magnet to a predetermined thickness by electric nickel plating, subsequently thermally treating the magnet at 150-400°C for 1-24 hours in an atmosphere where oxygen partial pressure is equal to or higher than 1.3×103 Pa, and forming a thin nickel oxide layer in a surface layer part.
