A disulfonyl fluoride compound is easily and efficiently produced through a coupling reaction. The compound is converted to produce a useful compound. A compound (1) in which Y is fluorine is subjected to a photocoupling reaction, while a compound (1) in which Y is hydroxy, -OMa (Ma is an alkali metal), or-O(Mb)1/2 (Mb is an alkaline earth metal) is subjected to an electrolytic coupling reaction. Thus, a compound (2) is obtained therefrom. Also provided are derivatives obtained from the compound (2) which include the following compound (7A). FSO2-E-CX 2-COY (1) FSO2-E-CX2-CX2-E-SO 2F (2) In the formulae, E is, e.g., a single bond, -O-, or C1-20 alkylene optionally containing etheric oxygen; X is fluorine, etc.; and Y is fluorine, hydroxy, etc. © KIPO & WIPO 2008
