PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a pulse laser device which suppresses the generation of a surge pulse through simple control to output a light pulse train with stable strength. SOLUTION : The pulse laser device includes a light source unit that outputs continuous laser light, a pulse generating means that outputs an electric pulse signal train, and an optical amplifying unit having exciting light sources that are connected to the pulse generating means and are driven by the electric pulse signal train to output an exciting light pulse train, and a rare-earth-element-added optical fiber that is connected to the light source and the exciting light sources and has a rare earth element excited by the exciting light pulse train to amplify the continuous laser light.
