PURPOSE : A fireable low melting nickel-chrome alloy for ceramic covered dental restorations is provided, wherein the alloy provides excellent dental restorations since the alloy has an advantageous range of thermal expansion coefficient relative to a ceramic material having ordinary expansion when the ceramic material is covered with ceramics, and the alloy can omit long term cooling and heat treatment during firing. CONSTITUTION : A fireable alloy for ceramic covered dental restorations comprises : 37 wt.%% or more of nickel; 18 to 23.5 wt.%% of chromium; 8 to 16 wt.%% in total of molybdenum and tungsten; optionally (i) 0.5 to 3.4 wt.%% of silicon and 0.31 to 2.5 wt.%% of boron, or (ii) 2.1 to 3.4 wt.%% of silicon and 0 to 0.05 wt.%% of boron; 0 to 0.9 wt.%% of niobium; 0 to 0.5 wt.%% of manganese; 0 to 0.02 wt.%% of carbon; 0 to 30 wt.%% in total of iron, cobalt, and copper; 0 to 0.5 wt.%% in total of aluminum, titanium, zirconium, hafnium, yttrium, lanthanum, cerium, other rare earth metal, calcium, and strontium; 0 to 0.3 wt.%% of beryllium; and 0 to 10 wt.%% of other metals, metalloids, and other components, wherein the respective weight percentages are based on the total weight of the alloy. © KIPO 2008
