PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To restrain fluctuation of the magnetic characteristics due to fluctuation of the oxygen partial pressure, at a baking atmosphere at the producing of a ferrite magnet, having a high residual magnetic flux density and a high coercive force.
SOLUTION : The production process of a ferrite magnet comprises a baking step for obtaining a sintered magnet by baking a formed body of a material powder. The oxygen partial pressure in the atmosphere in the baking step is lower than the oxygen partial pressure in the air. The sintered magnet contains Fe, an element A (A is at least one selected from among a group consisting of Sr, Ba, Ca and Pb), an element R (R is at least one selected from among a group consisting of rare earth elements (includes Y) and Bi), an element M (M is at least one selected from among a group consisting of Co, Mn, Ni and Zn), and an element MB (MB is at least one selected from among a consisting of Ti, V, Ge, Zr, Nb, Mo, Sn, Ta and W), and it has a hexagonal ferrite as the principal phase.
