PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To aim at longer life and improvement in startup in darkness of a cold-cathode fluorescent lamp. SOLUTION : Of the cold-cathode fluorescent lamp provided with a glass tube 2 with at least rare gas sealed in an inner space 5 airtightly sealed with bead glass 3 and with a phosphor layer formed on an inner wall face 4, electrodes 7 of a cylindrical shape arranged in the inner space 5, and lead wires 9 each with one end jointed to a bottom-part outer face 8 of the electrode 7 and the other end drawn outside the glass tube 2 in penetration of the bead glass 3, the electrode 7 is formed of a metal material of a nickel group with yttrium and/or yttrium oxide dispersed, the bottom-part outer face 8 taking on a flat face, and a bottom-part inner face 12 a curved surface.
