PURPOSE : An exhaust gas purifying catalyst is provided to maintain an effect of improving activities of precious metal particles due to the first compounds without increasing manufacturing costs or environmental loads by coating precious metal particles and first compounds with second compounds, thereby moving the precious metal particles and suppressing the coagulation of the precious metal particles at the same time, and a method for preparing the exhaust gas purifying catalyst is provided. CONSTITUTION : An exhaust gas purifying catalyst comprises : precious metal particles(1); first compounds(2) which contact the precious metal particles and suppress movement of the precious metal particles; and second compounds(3) which contain the precious metal particles and the first compounds, and simultaneously suppress the movement of the precious metal particles and suppress the coagulation of the first compounds according to mutual contact of the first compounds, wherein the first compounds support the precious metal particles, and a simple substance or aggregate of the first compounds which support the precious metal particles is included in a section isolated by the second compounds, and the first compounds are a composite comprising a rare earth element. The first compounds are a composite comprising a rare earth element and at least one metal of alkali metal and alkali earth metal. The first compounds are a composite comprising a rare earth element and zirconium. © KIPO 2008
