PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an electron emission source capable of suppressing an increase of a resistance value between terminals to provide a stable energization and heating.
SOLUTION : The electron emission source is provided with an electron emission source chip composed of rare earth six boride, and a heater, composed of a carbonaceous member, for seizing and heating the chip. A face of the electron emission source facing a space between the electron emission source chip and the heater is coated by a conductive material. The conductive material contains one or more kinds of materials selected from the group of carbon, rhenium, boron carbide, and boronated zirconium.
