PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a multilayer ceramic capacitor exhibiting a high permittivity even if the mean particle diameter of crystal grains is made smaller than 0.5 μm in which high temperature loading lifetime can be enhanced while reducing the temperature variation rate of dielectric constant. SOLUTION : A dielectric layer 5 contains 0.5-2 mol parts of Mg in terms of MgO, and 0.2-0.5 mol parts of Mn in terms of MnO for 100 mol parts of titanic acid barium, one kind of first rare earth element selected from Ho, Y, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu, and one kind of second rare earth element selected from Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb and Dy wherein the mean particle diameter of crystal grains composing the dielectric layer 5 is 0.15-0.3 μm, concentration gradient from the grain boundary to the central portion of crystal particles of the first rare earth element is in the range from -0.005 to -0.05 atm%/nm, and concentration gradient from the grain boundary to the central portion of crystal particles of the second rare earth element is in the range from -0.0005 to -0.005 atm%/nm.
