PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To produce a catalyst capable of giving improved high purity by solving the problem that the optical purity of a desired optical active epoxide in the conventional asymmetric epoxy catalysts is insufficient depending on the kind of a matrix in the asymmetric epoxydation reaction of an enone. SOLUTION : In the asymmetric epoxidation reaction of the enone and a fluorine-containing compound, the asymmetric epoxidation catalyst composed of an optical active binaphthol, a rare earth metal alkoxide, phosphine oxide, a cumene hydroperoxide or t-butyl hydroperoxide and an alcohol is used.
