PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for manufacturing granulated powder of rare earth alloy for manufacturing a magnet having excellent fluidity, press formability, and excellent magnetic characteristic. SOLUTION : This method for manufacturing granulated powder of rare earth alloy comprises : a step of preparing powder of rare earth alloy having residual magnetization placed on a gas-permeable base plate 42b in a tank 10; a step of generating a first gas flow (a) flowing upward from a lower side with respect to the base plate 42b; a step of performing granulation under a substantially zero magnetic field by utilizing the coercive force by the residual magnetization of the powder and the rolling effect by the kinetic energy by giving the kinetic energy to the powder particles by the first gas flow; a step of generating a second gas flow (b) downward from an upper side with respect to the base plate 42b; and a step of forming a powder layer formed of the powder on the base plate and compressing the powder layer by the second air flow. In addition, at least a part of the step of generating the first air flow and the step of generating the second air flow is simultaneously performed. COPYRIGHT : (C)2004, JPO
