PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a ferritic-austenitic stainless steel sheet having high "uniform elongation" as a factor governing actual formability without largely incorporating Ni as an expensive and rare element, and to provide a method for producing the same.
SOLUTION : The stainless steel sheet comprises, by mass, 0.002 to 0.100% C, 0.05 to 2.00% Si, 0.05 to 5.00% Mn, <0.050% P, <0.010% S, 17 to 25% Cr and 0.010 to 0.150% N, and the balance iron with inevitable impurities, and in which the volume fraction in an austenitic phase is 10 to <50%, Md value calculated from the chemical composition in the austenitic phase is -10 to 110, the crystal grain size in a cross section vertical to the rolling width direction is ≤15 μm, also, the ratio of austenitic grains having a shape aspect ratio of <3 occupies ≥90% of all the austenitic grains, and further, the average spacing between the closest austenitic grains in the same cross section is ≤12 μm.
