PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a polycarbonate resin composition having excellent mechanical strength and heat resistance, high refractive index and low dispersibility and to provide an optical component obtained by molding the polycarbonate resin composition. SOLUTION : The polycarbonate resin composition comprises a metal cluster (B) in which a counter metal is bound through an oxygen atom to the central metal composed of a rear earth metal in an amount of 0.1-200 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of a polycarbonate resin (A) having 4, 000-27, 000 viscosity-average molecular weight. The optical component is obtained by molding the polycarbonate resin composition. In a preferable mode, the central metal is at least one selected from the group consisting of yttrium and lanthanoid elements.
