PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a fiber laser oscillator which is capable of arbitrarily determining a pulse width and simplifies device configuration.
SOLUTION : Within a resonator constituted of an emission mirror 12 and a rear mirror 2, there are installed a fiber 6 to which rare earth elements are added, a Q switch 3, a wavelength converting element 11 for performing wavelength conversion, and a laser beam diameter converting mechanism 9 for converting a diameter of laser incident to the wavelength converting element 11. The emission mirror 12 totally reflects a fiber laser fundamental wave L1, is coated for transmitting conversion light L3 therethrough and emits light energy to the outside of the resonator when wavelength conversion is started at the wavelength converting element 11. By converting the diameter of laser beam incident to the wavelength converting element 11, the pulse width is adjusted.
