PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To enable a relatively simple structure to satisfactorily demagnetize the magnet having a high coercive force, such as a rare-earth magnet and an NdFeB-based bond magnet.
SOLUTION : Current is supplied to a demagnetization coil 11 by a charging capacitor 6 which is charged to a high voltage via a switching element 10. A flywheel diode 12 is connected in parallel to the demagnetization coil 11. In a pulse magnetic field generated by the demagnetization coil 11, a sample magnet 20 is rotated at a predetermined rotation speed with respect to an axis perpendicular to a magnetic line of force a of the pulse magnetic field. The sample magnet is satisfactorily demagnetized by causing the sample magnet to rotate in the pulse magnetic field.
