PREPARATION METHOD OF THE ELECTRODE FOR FUEL CELL HAVING AN IMPROVED CATALYST LAYER

A method for preparing an electrode for a fuel cell having an improved catalyst layer is provided to increase the secondary pore of a catalyst layer, thereby improving the battery property even with using a small amount of an expensive rare earth metal catalyst. A method for preparing an electrode for a fuel cell comprises the steps of adding a catalyst powder to a dispersion solvent to prepare a catalyst ink; heating a gas diffusion layer at a temperature range of the boiling point of the dispersion solvent ± 25 deg.C; and coating the prepared catalyst ink to a gas diffusion layer to form a catalyst layer. Preferably the ratio of the catalyst powder and the dispersion solvent is 1 : 12-49 by weight; and the catalyst is selected from the group consisting of platinum, ruthenium, osmium, palladium, iridium, molybdenum, tungsten, rhodium, rhenium, gold, nickel, titanium and their alloys.
