PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for efficiently and economically recovering rare metals from a waste-liquid crystal panel, etc.
SOLUTION : A base board of the waste liquid crystal panel, etc., is cut off and crashed, and the crushed material is stirring-treated under ammonia or nitrogen atmosphere together with lithium nitride to recover the rare metals (mainly, indium), and lithium hydroxide generated as the result, is treated with carbon dioxide to recover as lithium carbonate and the lithium carbonate is changed into lithium oxide and further, changed into the lithium nitride with a plasma treatment, and the lithium nitride is allowed to be used for recovering treatment of the rare metals.
