PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a cold accumulating material which has high heat-exchange efficiency with an actuating medium, high strength and high specific heat around the temperature of liquid He. SOLUTION : The rare-earth oxysulfide ceramic cold accumulating material is obtained by sintering a porous secondary structure so that it becomes porous and is unified with a pipe-like ceramic sintered compact. The porous secondary structure comprises a network wherein rare-earth oxysulfide crystal grains, i.e. primary particles, are mutually sintered at necks. COPYRIGHT : (C)2004, JPO
