PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an ultraviolet lamp durable for a long time, restraining ultraviolet rays from causing distortion on the lamp. SOLUTION : The ultraviolet lamp comprises a film 1 made from ZrO2 and SiO2, an airtight receptacle 2 made from an ozoneless quartz material containing TiO2, lead wires 4, electrodes 5 and 6, electrode holding portions 7, end portions 8 and a rare gas 9 acting as discharge medium. The inner wall of the receptacle 2 through the film 1 and TiO2 blocks vacuum ultraviolet rays from reaching quartz glass. COPYRIGHT : (C)2009, JPO&INPIT
