PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide the method for efficiently removing boron from a boron- contg. waste water. SOLUTION : A compd. dissolved in water and liberating rare-earth element ion or group IVb element ion is added to a boron-contg. waste water to form an insoluble precipitate in the first stage. The formed insoluble precipitate is separated from liq. in the second stage. The separated liq. is brought into contact with an anion-exchange resin to adsorb boron on the resin in the third stage. Boron is desorbed from the resin having adsorbed boron in the fourth stage. The supernatant liq. is returned to the first stage, and the boron-contg. waste water is treated.
