FLAME-RETARDANT LUMINOUS FIBER AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an inexpensive flame-retardant luminous fiber having excellent flame retardance performances in addition to light-emitting characteristics sustainable in the dark over a long period. SOLUTION : The flame-retardant luminous fiber is obtained by mixing luminous particles in an organic high-molecular weight polymer having ≥400°C thermal decomposition temperature and ≥25 LOI (limiting oxygen index) value according to JIS L 1091 E method at 10-200°C. The luminous particles are prepared by doping an alkaline earth metal salt of an aluminum oxide with rare earth and the average particle diameter of the luminous particles is preferably within the range of 0.1-10 μm. A para type wholly aromatic polyamide and/or a meta type wholly aromatic polyamide are exemplified as the organic high-molecular weight polymer. COPYRIGHT : (C)2008, JPO&INPIT
